I know of the honestly of the residents of my state and I do not know of the honesty of other states. The presidency is a very special position and the founding fathers thought of this and put in place a system that guards against the possibility of cheating. They by this clearly believed that one vote one person was not the way to elect the president.

They were very wise men then and now. To argue that all people who vote today are equally informed and not fooled is absurd and this again is why our founding fathers understood the human condition and put in place a safe and fair method of electing a president.

The electoral college does not necessarily underweight urban areas; it does underweight high population states.

I'm not arguing as to whether this is desirable or not desirable; I'm simply that it is a fact.
