OX - OT? I don't know.
Trying to bypass slippage:

1- delay needed to transmit an order and a parked or OCO stop on a future. Needs between 3 and 15 sec.
2- transmission of that order in the open outcry:
is your order transmitted or re-routed via TOPS or CURBS.
Is it printed? Does a runner have to take that paper slip and bring it to a desk?
Or do you exclusively plan Globex trading.
Does the FCM have dedicated pit personnel or do they negociate with a wholesaler?
Time needed 2 sec to 2 min.
3- your equipment. Can you live whit a 3 sec lag in RT quotes?
Yes, if your broker has no manned pit in your instrument.
No in the other case.
4- Is the investment of +$1k /month for a dedicated line responsible: depends on the amount of RTs you intend to trade in a month and on the fill performances of your broker.

Getting paranoid here, but that futures business is Money. Either you compete with the same weapons, or you just trade for the fun of it. There, in between, pro or amateur, there is a lot of money to be lost for inoperative fancy improvements.

There is nothing OT on this thread.

It's not like Tom is going to swoop in and tell us what to say, after all.
