All 67 FL counties with undervotes, up to 45,000 votes may need to be counted. I would call this only a partial Gore victory. He needed it to stay alive, but the court is going to count Republican counties that were never hand counted before (undervotes that is). The Bush team couldn't ask for the recounts since they were past the deadline and it wasn't part of their "lame" strategy, but the court gave them an out.

I think there's a good chance Bush will come out on top yet again. If he doesn't he can still reasonably argue that dimpled ballots shouldn't count.

Also it appears that the Tallahasee court may end up recounting the Miami-Dade undervotes vs an extremely partisian canvasing board. I would guess being a court (or hopefully a judge) that they would use pretty strict standard about intent (no dippled ballots and no magnifying glasses).

Thanks, Roebear. Are those of you who are holding large cash positions holding such as $ U.S.? Any thoughts on ideas to hedge or eliminate that exposure? - other than gold, which has already gotten its share of attention on this thread.

My anticipation of the $ U.S. getting it's long overdue spanking has heretofore led me to prefer hard assets (including energy), as I have previously stated.

Regards,

Roebear. Sld down PQUE to a 1/2 pos and Bot 1/4 pos in PDS today.

Asset allocation wise? Bout a wash. Cash increased a tad. Now probably about 77-8%.

Did a nice profitable ST quickie on PDS last week But want to see it dip next week before I get more.

Let's see, hmmm. The "Gore Bear"? Not nearly descriptive enough for the craziest market I've seen since 73-74'.

What shall we call this mess?!(G)
