Yeah, I like that sound.

Irish music always found a soft spot for me, no matter whether it was hard like that or soft. Some of the more famous Irish musicians out of New York I've met over the years; very nice people.

I was once approached by Paul Simon, of Simon and Garfunkel fame, because I had an obscure T-Shirt on in N'Orleans with the name of a New York Irish bar with a picture of Christy Moore's brother on it. Simon was interested because he knew the bar and the artist.

Nobody has ever heard of this guy. My wife nearly passed out. Instead of using his own name he took a name from a James Joyce novel, Luka Bloom. I went to see him and other friends named Eileen Ivers, Joanie Madden, and some other people and now Eileen has her own stuff going,

Joanie is banging it up with Paul Winter and also the Chieftans,

Me I'm still sitting here waiting to be discovered.

One thing I never got straight between my ears is that when I stopped hanging out with these Irish musicians Paul Simon never stopped me in the street anymore.

Think there is a connection there?

Edie Brickel. I've been writing away wasting time on this post trying to recall who was with Simon while we were talking. She had a song out at the time.

She married Simon,

Her band was the New Bohemians.

Now that sounds like a good time, with decent music, and good seats. I'll keep an eye on the schedule to see if they come around here, I think I'd like to go.

Over the summer, I took my honey to see her favorite band, Rick Springfield, ya know Jesse's Girl, Rock the Nation, ..., she knows all the songs by heart. Now that concert had about 300 people, a revolving stage, we had front rows seats, so the set up was good. Now, of the 300 fans about 280 of them were females, with their signs for Rick and a zillion flowers. Interesting concert from a guys perspective, the music was ok, the actions of the fans was like, Heat of the Night.
