Florida did count until your renegade SC decided to change the rules after the game was over. That's not allowed under the US Constitution and Federal law. Time for the grownups to step in and stop this insanity.

I still think the best outcome is for your Legislature to flex their muscles and do the right thing before the US SC acts. That way it stays local and the decision is made by the representatives of the people and not the bandits in black robes.

John,

The USSC is not a Federal agency, it's a separate and equal branch of our Federal government. Your's in FL and mine in CA.

I wish that the Judiciary had never been involved too but when it became the case that one side wanted to do what the other side believed was inherently unfair, it became a matter for judicial review and now here we are.

We all live in the same country and have to follow the constitution. If the FLSC didn't, they will find that out very soon. If they did, we'll know that too.

What's wrong with that?

Barry

John,

Florida doesn't count, period. We have no voice in the decision of the President. A federal agency of the US goverment has decided to take that right away. Period.

What exactly are you talking about? We have a renegade state Supreme Court that keeps changing the rules in open defiance of the State laws, State legislature, the US Constitution, Federal laws and the US SC.

Joe

<Edit>Elmer and I are really 2 different people, even though my reply is very similar to what lmer wrote. I guess the great minds think alike, well, maybe except in case of the SPEC benchmark</edit>

John, how long should it take, unlimited amount of time? What is FL's problem? do you think everything is just fine there or does it look like maybe they need some help?

And when Bush gets elected, he can stack the Supreme Court, and then there will be glorious Republican forever.

Florida doesn't count, period. We have no voice in the decision of the President. A federal agency of the US goverment has decided to take that right away. Period.

We need a more educated electorate. People who do not understand the construction of their own government should not be voters. I would also exclude people who think the US Supreme Court is an agency, instead of one of the three branches of the Federal Government.
