OUT OF LURK MODE ....

David, you are as full of &$*%# as a Christmas turkey! Bush had the votes in Florida if they were counted properly with a REAL standard and not one that changed every few ballots. The US Supreme Court in a 5 to 4 ruling said that the vote counting was not being done within constitutional equality due to the voters rights amendment and that is the end of it. Your guy lost and the country won. Justice prevails!

.... BACK TO LURK MODE

David,

The Florida Supreme Court dropped the ball on this one. They had many opportunities to call for the state wide re-count and to set a standard. Contrary to what you believe, Bush would have won with a Palm Beach type standard and including legitimate military ballots that were tossed out.

Even Newsweek agreed that Broward County created votes. Miami Dade was already starting to turn as they started counting the Cuban precincts and over 90% of the ballots they had counted had NO VOTE!! (Unofficial of course).

I don't like the finish of this election because someone will always be out there trying to prove someone else won and that is NOT good for our nation. As Broward County proved, you can make anyone look like the winner if you really try.

David,

You are the dumbest ass I have seen on SI.

Usually I only run across people like you on Raging Bull or Yahoo.

I did make a note on the recount ordered by the Florida Supreme Court. The Democratic Party was very lucky the U.S. Supreme Court stopped it. It really saved the Democrats from becoming more embarrassed.

In the Dade County recount, MSNBC reported:

9000 ballots were to be reviewed.

92 increase for Bush
50 increase for Gore
137 were challenged
3236 were a no vote

But the irony of all this is that even when Bush would win the recount, the Democrats would insist that they must look at the challenged and no votes to convert them to Gore votes.

Isn't that what the last 5 weeks have been about? Looking for votes for the Sore Losermen bunch.

I personally used to call myself an independent. I have always voted split tickets. However, this has changed. The Democrats have made such fools of themselves I don't know how I will ever be able to vote for another Democrat.

Later, I am sure that if a Democrat works hard enough, they might convince me. But always in the back of my mind will recall how the party stood behind President Clinton who is a whoremonger from the gitgo.

No longer will office girls walk with a skip in the oval office to avoid being pinched on the ass.... need I say more.

David,

Oh one thing I forgot to mention to you..... obviously you are a die hard Democrat and would cherish souvenirs from the Clinton era.

I understand George Bush has told the maintenance team at the White House to get rid of that carpet under Bill's desk in the oval office. Cuz he refuses to go in that room cuz he might take his pet dog in for a visit and you know that smell under Bill's desk would drive that dog crazy.

Now if you got Monica's stained dress you could start a museum. You could even ask for donations. I am sure Jennifer Flowers could help you. Ms. Wily's attorney might be able to furnish you with a torn blouse...

New Day Dawning

David,

If the standard for recounting is/was the West Palm Beach standard...than Gore has/will lose. It should be the West Palm Beach standard.....because it is the only standard that reflects the "CLEAR" intent of the voter.

This is over, David.

You are my friend. If you were here.....there would have been a big Omaha Steak for you.....a bunch of Coronas.....and a pair of socks!

The Commission members who made it to my little clam bake tonight are pounding the table....and cleaning out my liquor supply. I'm being take to the cleaners as I post this.

I want you to know that it is not so much because of who won this thing...but more the fact that it is over. The Democrats can go after the Bush electors...and/or come back strong in 2002...and 2004.....But for now...it is over.

This is what is best for the markets...and for Identix. You and I both know that the DNC never should have taken it past the second machine count.

After I sleep this off....and hear the magic words form Al Gore....I'm headed to the stores to pump this economy up.

Next week we may get our COMDEX?

bg

ps. Remember the name Dirk Kempthorn......Governor of the great state of Idaho......2008....I'll be on the inside.

David,
I have to side with the majority of response to your obviously partisan response. What in the world have you been smoking??? You possess some great analytical skills with to ability to put in in writing yet, in this situation have arrived at a completely different interpretation than the scholars (even Professor Tribe admitted a lose).

James Baker said it best in his original plea to Gore to concede "do not take us down this slippery slope". Al Gore chose instead to proceed and now has lost. He should have conceded last night. He didn't another sign of his denial.

It is he who lost in more ways than one.
