Ten,

I think by now it would be in his best personal interests to concede and try to lift that shadow that he and his lawyers tried to cast in the first place

The circumstances of the election caused the problems, not Gore.

Gore has nothing to gain by bowing out. Bow out, and he disappears like Bob Dole.

And in any case, there will always be a shadow of illegitimacy over the winner of any close election. Wonder what Gore will say today. I think by now it would be in his best personal interests to concede and try to lift that shadow that he and his lawyers tried to cast in the first place.

Gore's spinsters are floating the idea of him not conceding (as in saying he lost the election) but rather him just saying that his campaign is "over." If he follows that course, he will be excommunicated from his party. The Democrats need him to fall on his sword. He already lost Tennessee, now he'll lose Georgetown.

Actually, my note to Scumbria was a bit tongue in cheek since he was calling for legitimacy in FL.

OTOH, I agree with you on the electoral college.
Likely it will stay since a change includes a ratification by 3/4s of the states. Not likely to happen as the smaller states don't want to give up any more power to the Hillarys and NYs and Californias...(big states).
