Yes, that is the way I understand it. They use 1.618 a great deal in their measurements. JohnP is a better one to for a complete answer.

But you can take the length between two highs and multiply by 1.618 and geta turning point in the future. Some use low to low and even highs to lows.

The Harmonics folks are really into it..!
