Funny you mentionned Robbins: also is on my short list.
You can trade with them using eSignal or DTN / Interquote.
Don't know yet who is their clearing house.

Mention of Best direct on Intelligent speculator surprises me: neatest interface and one click point and trade I have seen. (with on line real-time trading power)
If am correct trades are sent to Peregrine wich has another front end: PFG.
So if Best direct is not good, logically PFG would be worse.

EDF Man IB's should be the ones for day trading.
Man has a day trading margin policy, about half the one of overnight margin (on the other hand, these overnight margins are higher than exchange's minimum).

Also got emails from a very nice guy who wants my business and is very helpfull. Although I deselected them coz. of their interface (too many windows to click through). He is at pmbinc.

Note: soome IB's let you trade through eSignal. Their partner's programm put the price of eSignal down to $130/month. Further, some IBs credit you some bucks at each RT and you can use that credit to pay for the datafeed.
Something to consider if you trade 50 RTs a month.
