I think the problem some of the people on the thread have is with the statement "... oppose abortion", implying that you oppose abortions -- but that does not say whether you mean for yourself, or for every other woman on the planet. If you mean for yourself, more power to you. If you mean for every other woman on the planet, you will automatically be labeled as sexist (since you oppose a woman's right to make up her own mind about whether to have a child or not), unsympathetic (because not everyone who has an abortion had irresponsible sex -- after all, there is rape, incest, failed birth control etc that can lead to pregnancy), and a lot of worse labels I'm not going to type here <g> I realize that all you were doing was trying to say that not all people who are anti-abortion are Christian, Catholic etc. But the point really isn't "anti-abortion", it is "anti-choice". The framing of the question is half the battle . . .

you did not offend me. perhaps i should have made reference to your statement: (I don't like those catch phrases of "pro-choice, pro-life"...I prefer to call it what it is, "abortion"), and I don't fit the stereotype you described: what I want to express is that the pro-choice movement is not simply a term that represents "pro-abortion". It is far more than that. reading more of your statements tells me that you are of open mind, i must have misunderstood your initial post. be well
