Hi Tom; I have done the year-end accounting, and I am certainly among those whose accounts have taken a beating....but I am only part-way through the AIM cycle, most of the down cycle (I hope).....even so, the buying at lower prices on the way down is showing some promise....for example in one growth fund, the decline in fund price is 22% from the April 00 start date...but the actual decline in the Newport account is 14%...so, I guess the 8% differential is positive.

I hope that 01 gives me a chance to see the other half of the cycle, if not, it will occur later........Que, sera, sera (sp) the old song "What will be, will be".

Best Wishes for the New Year to all, especially in terms of things that really matter....family love...health...and peace of mind.

Regards, Bud

Great New Year's message, Tom. And a splendid piece of writing, I may add. Although the response was directed to me, it behooves all AIMers, as well as all investors, to read and take notice of what Tom has to say here. Well done, my friend, and Happy New Year to all my friends here on SI.

Sincerely,
RFH
