But, she would just laugh!! She knows better.. Because she comes from a country where there is "True Democracy".. It is exercised in every election.. They don't just "teach their children in school", what a Democracy "Should Be". A Democracy.. Let's take a look at the meaning....dictionary.com 1.Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives. Well, you can count this one out!! "Government by the people".. We know who the "majority rule" of the voters cast their ballots for?? Now don't we?? "Exercised either directly or through elected representatives." Well, we know the "Exercised directly" part is out, and since the Electoral College is not "elected by the people, for the people".. Then the next part is dead out also.. As a matter of fact.. The "Judicial Body" that determined the outcome of our Presidential Election are not Elected either.. Just a bunch a Partisan Political Paupers".. I have ZERO RESPECT for this group of individual's that call themselves "The Supreme Court".. They are the "Supreme Laughing Stock" in my perspective. 2.A political or social unit that has such a government. Sure lot's of countries that "CLAIM" they are a "DEMOCRACY".. Like IRAQ... Yet we see cry's of Hypocrisy about these counties "Form of Democracy".ibb.gov 3. The common people, considered as the primary source of political power. A big negative on this one.. After all.. You, yourself ,stated.. "because the founding fathers knew the masses weren't all that smart and it might be better to have an elected representative that was." So a group of "Representatives" that consider themselves as being smarter than the masses. And will Dictate the Governmental Policies with out regard to the desires of the "Majority of the Masses"?? Doesn't sound like a Democracy to me!!4. Majority rule. See # 1,2,3 above... 5. The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community. Could you honestly say that the , respect for the "Wishes of the Majority" individuals in this Country were upheld? Oh!! I could "tell your wife we are democratic, but have a REPRESENTATIVE form of government".. But she grew up in Colombia when it had a Non-Democratic form of Government.. So she knows the difference between the two.. And from "first hand experience" .. She knows Better!! PCSTEL
