Jo, here is a good one my dad told me. Just a few years ago we here in the good ole USA were BURNING OFF extra Natural Gas cuz it was so so cheap and we had no more room to store it...so we just burned it as it came out of the well. AMAZING!!

Um... the way I understand it PG&E and SCE don't actually generate much of the energy we use.... they purchase it from other sources. They more they need to more these other sources are charging them but they can not pass these incremental costs onto the consumer because consumer price changes do need approval from the PUC. What is de-regulated is the competition for providing service ... but not pricing - I think....

What is criminal is that the people that PG&E and SCE are purchasing power and gas from are screwing them over... and the feds are looking the other way.

IMHO, believe that is the problemo..they stopped generating electricity and decided to sell their plants so they could pay "through the nose" for juice to deliver to us poor folk. Of course, the tree-huggers in this state have not helped this situation at all...Unfortunately, this energy issue will not help an already upset earnings pattern of certain CA corporations.
