Haim,
From a fundamental point of view, I can understand completely your dismay with the complete picture. Just from a trading point of view, however, I am encouraged that the market is
rising in spite of the humdrum if not bad news you cite.
It is telling me this rally is not about the fundamentals.
I think it is that we were very heavily oversold, and overdue
for a good snap up. What we have seen so far doesn't yet qualify in my mind. I think this rally is about to fry the
shorts. No one who pays attention to the doom and gloom is going to believe the rally is going. But go it will until it
is time to pull the rug out again. That could last weeks, I would think.
I suspect, to think like a criminal, maybe the market buys
the rumor of the Fed Mtg cut, then finally corrects off (market sells the fact) before another move up. But, I think alot of shorts will be in severe pain by then.... NG
Regards,
Eichler

My take is different. When stocks ignore bad news, that is the most bullish kind of action IMHO. I get worried when stocks ignore good news; I love it when bad news is sloughed off.
