Ken, Sagawa was dumping on NT 2 months ago. Now he is projecting that the second half of the year will provide no acceleration. He was wrong 2 months ago, just as he was when he was pumping LU as it came all the way down from the 70's and 80's in '99 and '00. as I said then, Sagawa does not have a real idea as to what is going on in the sector.

Great quarter, imo.

Hi Ken & all - why, I thought it was nice for Mr Sagawa to say NT hustles like crazy. I like to own stk in companies who would hustle like crazy. If a company stops hustling, it is a sure sign of complacency. So, folks, Mr Sagawa was actually making backhanded compliment <VBG>!

best, Bosco

"Nortel is going to execute well and win business. I buy that," said Sagawa. "I do not buy that the (overall) market is going to accelerate in the back half of the year."

Another case of believing your own myth. Has he never heard it's far better to keep your mouth shut and have people believe you're an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt?

"Nortel hustled like crazy to get to $10 billion in optical," said Paul Sagawa, an analyst at Bernstein".

Does this sound like Sagawa....

"Those goddamn Nortel salesmen just work way too hard!!! They should just take it easy like the Lucent salesmen. Now those Lucent guys really know how to take is easy. No manufacturing capacity problems at that company."

Kinda, reminds me of that fake Sony commercial from the movie Truth in Advertising - "Those foreigners are just too damn tall"
