Pete,

You claim to be against oil exploration and fuel waste, but drive a fuel hog of a SUV.

I fill it up about 10 times a year. How does that compare with most city drivers in their small cars?

You claim to be against government waste, but not when your party does it.

Which party is that, and what on earth are you talking about?

You want a great life but, deny it to others.

That is a bizarro comment.

You heap criticism and derision on others but, can't take criticism yourself.

That must be why I spend so much time on the Rambus and Intel threads.

You need power but, do not want a power plant or high tension lines near you.

Any educated person would feel the same way, though I have never mentioned anything about powerlines on SI.

You want wilderness but, not if it inconveniences you.

Bizarro comment #2.

You are a comedian.

The Church/State separation I think is taken to too far an extreme. So long as the program pays for those parts that are secular like drug treatment and not the teaching of the faith, it is ok given, that there is no discrimination against any faith (so long as the practice breaks no other laws and is tolerant of other faiths and atheists) or secular organization (same applies). Checking to make sure that separation is maintained is a good idea (as always a good checking scheme should be inexpensive in time and labor). Time will tell on the results of his administration.

Pete,

They are setting up the faith office in the White House...you know, that's the big white building where the President works.......and you think that's being too concerned with the separation of church and state.

You should have seen the look on the sucker's face when he was announcing it. He's trying to take us back to the 50's before he had a drinking problem.

And you think Scumbria has a problem. The problem is in the WH and its a very scary one.

"So long as the program pays for those parts that are secular like drug treatment and not the teaching of the faith, it is ok "

But very hypocritical. Not you since you stated you are opposed to the recent anti-abortion action. On the one hand, they deny money to any group that will counsel for abortion, even if the money for their abortion counseling comes from other sources, but want to provide money to faith-based organizations as long as the money is not used directly for teaching of the faith. In the first case, there is nothing illegal about abortion. In the second, it is getting really close to something that is not only illegal, it is un-Constitutional.
