RE: Reduce MHz for lower power consumption Someone on this thread did that very thing with their new AMD processor a couple of weeks ago, but I can't remember who. They had good results too. This whole notebook/power thing confuses me a bit. Why did AMD release the Duron notebook chips at relatively high power consumption, when 1) seems like they could have clocked down higher speed chips for less power consumption, and 2) the palomino notebook core is right around the corner? I guess with the Morgan being a quarter behind, the Duron will fill the 'low end' of the notebook space. I just hope it is the same infrastructure because if it isn't it doesn't make much sense. I know the Duron chips don't have PowerNow, but I don't know how much difference that makes infrastructure-wise. JJ
