Basically yes.

OK. That was expected. I'm cool with it. Let me ask you this--are you even a little bit uncomfortable asserting that your truth trumps my truth just because it's yours?

A second question. Just for the sake of argument, let's say that a series of studies pretty conclusively demonstrates that human population growth will destroy our world within 20 years. That's "massive justification," isn't it? I know it's far fetched, but I'm trying to figure out if there's anything that trumps the protection of fetuses. Would that change your view of abortion?

BTW, a few days ago you mentioned the difference between justice and vengeance. There's been so much going on here that I never got around to addressing it. But I did think of you the night before last when I saw the Star Trek Voyager episode about the planet where the victims determined the perp's sentence. Did you see it?

<<<<Are you going to say that the abortion issue is different because people want to murder innocent children? Surprise
me, please. <g>

Basically yes. I could make it more complex but it boils down to that. I said in my post "That I don't think it is just for the
government to control people and their lives to such an extent without massive justification." The rights and lives of the
unborn are in this case the massive justification.

Famine will take millions of them. A slow and hideous death. Disease. War. Brutality. Neglect.

That, to you, is less "massive justification" than your religious zeal to force pregnant women to carry an embryo until it becomes a sentient being.

Suffering counts for nothing in your construct. Your personal concept of a "soul" in each fertilized egg counts for everything, and justifies, in your words, "for the government to control people and their lives."
