Nice riffs from Fred Hickey in the latest Kiplinger's, even including a Bubblevision reference!

>>I think law and medicine have become relatively gender-desensitized actually. My girlfriend is a chip designer... about 98:2 in that world, at least at the higher-skilled end of the profession. She has no problem getting noticed at meetings.<<

I think unless you're a female doctor or a female lawyer you probably have no idea whether medicine or law have become gender desensitized, and your girlfriend's experience as a chip designer isn't going to help you with that insight. If you disagree, ask yourself how many female lawyers you saw in court trying cases or arguing in Florida or Washington during Bush v. Gore. I counted zero.

And women have a hard time becoming surgeons. But it's fairly easy for a woman to become a pediatrician or internist, and for a woman to be a prosecutor or divorce lawyer.

I wonder how many women have seats on the stock exchanges?
