I agree, a bottom may be at hand, but basing is needed before major upside can be sustained. There may be "news" inspired sharp rallies, but still a base is needed for a true "launch". Several stocks that are already in a "basing" mode are AMAT, INTC and QCOM, but those bases are not complete...yet, but are much further down the basing path than say JDSU or EXTR.

I don't expect a huge rally, but I do expect good tech to have a pretty solid and defined bounce. I follow NTAP very closely. Look at what is happening with it (and the rest of storage for that matter) after the BRCD-inspired sell-off this morning. This stock is not in a free-fall as some would suggest. I believe a base is formed, and NTAP could very easily move back through $40. At which point it would not be as good a buy given that it would be up 20% or more from where it is presently.

On volatile issues, you have to be ahead of the heard, imho.

Ed is right for the more conservative. If I had listened to him last year at this time, I would've not lost as much as I did. But then again, I would've never made nearly as much prior to that, either.

. Any positions I would take would be sold before the end of day.

Im just accumulating.......no more trading for me.

The shares I bought today, or yesterday, or the ones I buy next week, etc.....I expect they'll be with me for quite some time.

Unless we head for 5000 again soon....Then I'd lighten up a little.<g>
