Congratulations to both of you. :) One of the things that helps my kids' grades is that I insist on reading and editing their major reports. I don't rewrite them, just go over with the old red pencil, and make them fix errors. Sometimes we lock horns when I keep sending them back to the computer, but my mantra is "there is no good writing, there is only good rewriting." Both of them have terrible handwriting, so they compose all reports on the computer. I got them a color printer so they can spiff things up with color illustrations, which always impresses the teachers. They are turning into good writers.
