Albert, Re: AMD is doing better than a year ago and substantially better than 2 or 3 years ago. Amd is gaining market share with excellent product line and roadmap and got enough capital to do buybacks as well

One of the reasons it is better than 2 or 3 years ago is the flash business which is running out of steam. And I keep on hearing people said it is gaining market share but the total unit shipment number does not support that. Lastly, I don't think it is wise for a technology company to use its capital to buy back stocks.

Albert, re:AMD"got enough capital to do buybacks as well."

That was only an authorization to do so at discretion of management, not a commitment.

~$1.2B in cash and ~$1.1B in debt - should they use cash to buyback stock? Where does the next factory or factory upgrade come from?....Massive on-going free cash flow in the current easy-going business environment?

<LOL! did not have such a good laugh in while, thank you.>

I remember Amy proclaimed that AMD commons were like risky options that were about to expire. Mind you her insight came to us in 1999 when AMD was trading at around $7 and INTC at around $40, both post-split.
