I don't remember radio shows but I did look for four leaf clovers and cloud shapes. My favorite childhood memories are playing jacks, hopscotch and jumping rope. I was very good at jacks.

I didn't have appleboxes as a kid, but when the ice delivery man would lose a customer, the neighbourhood kids would gain a wonderful cardboard box the refrigerator came in.

I very dimly remember Hopalong Cassidy. We didn't get a TV until 1953. The thing would consume vacuum tubes at a rate that would make a threshing machine envious. Interestingly enough, the tube most replaced was the 6SN7GTB, the same tube used in the earliest computers.

As for wondering what the other drivers are thinking, I admit I often do, and sometimes say to myself "What were you thinking?", after witnessing some particularly creative manoeuvre.

I'm delighted you enjoy my stories.

Cheers, PW.
