Michael-- I will personally benefit from Bush's tax proposals, but I think they are wrong and bad for reasons I won't repeat. Remember, Gates Sr., Buffett, Soros, etc. all think it is wrong to give welfare to the wealthy. To paint the arguments of those who disagree with you as Marxist is cheap.

I object to you maligning the motives of people you disagree with. Use reasoning and not ad-hominem arguments.

I, also, am not against SOME taxes and, like you, realize that a concentration of wealth is a negative for society to I support a reformed estate tax. I think that most liberals fall into one of two categories:

1.Don't make much money so they don't FEEL the pinch of taxes in the same proportion as those in the higher brackets.

2. Make millions from luck of some God given talent and feel guilty.

A community college prof who makes 90 grand for 10 hours of work? Where do I sign up??? Plenty of tenured 4-year university profs don't make that much.

Does your friend perhaps have other income streams, too?

Katherine

Michael... Think before you press the send key on messages.....

Liberals seem to have come to the Marxist conclusion that all money earned above what they as individuals make should be confiscated by the state.

Liberals don't come to Marxist conclusions any more than often than conservative Republicans do.Because some one does not share your opinions (or Daryll's for that matter) does not make him or her a Marxist. Phrases like :Far Left"," Marxist", "Extreme Liberal", "Confiscation" do nothing but add inflammatory rhetoric to a complicated problem.

You must learn the artful use of language, like AG exemplifies.. .. speak for hours... say exactly nothing... leave everything up for re-interpretation then promise to come back next month for further clarifications.

Regards, Jerome :)
