This has nothing to do with AG or the size of rate cut, it is the earning and the economy. Even we had 75 base point today, we would be still heading south, maybe a day delay.

Maybe he took the look, threw up, then decided the Fed would be at risk of looking impotent, if it eased hyper-aggressively and the markets tanked anyway - better to set the Fed up for the long-term if needed.
