will comment on the statement:

"However, these regrettable numbers of lives lost need to be put into some perspective with the other risks children face."

That is such HORSE PUCKY. Risks are CUMULATIVE, so removing some reduces overall risk of harm. The converse of this stupid argument is: why not let kids play with fireworks? They're more likely to die in a car wreck, anyway. That's life.

It is not horse pucky. You are right when you say removing some reduces overall harm but their is a good reason to put the risks in to perspective. If pools kill many more children then guns then if we are justified in outlawing guns due to the danger to children we should also outlaw pools. In fact since pools are more dangerous to children (despite the fact that there are more guns in the US then pools) perhaps your efforts should be focused on eliminating the deadly pool menace, and then once that is conquered you can focus and such lesser threats as guns. It would seem to be a more efficient use of your time and energy if your goal is to save the lives of children.

Dear Kevin Rose your position >>>> fewer guns, fewer crimes.

What a maroon position. I consider stupid any assertion that more guns are used in crime than in the legitimate defense. Well every policeman has a gun and all the soldiers have guns and they don't kill just as all the good citizen's don't kill. Guns do not kill. People with the intent to kill kill and sometimes use guns. Only a person who in my opinion is retarded would expect that in free America that we have today that banning guns would in any way reduce those with a criminal economic interest in having guns from not getting them.

So Kevin you fix society so there is no-more crack available in just one city for one week and maybe you can convince me that what you argue is not idiotic.

And Kevin I also in general assume anyone trying to create laws that have the intent of preventing stupid people from doing stupid things are just plain dumber than dirt.
