Hi Chip,
I am not an excel expert by any stretch,
but can you add a column next to the one you need switched,
then use a formula to multiply by -1 so the result is the
opposite sign....

Example here shows the formula contained in Col B
A B
1 1234 =A1*-1
2 4354 =A2*-1
3 -598 =A3*-1

Colum B would look like this

1 -1234
2 -4354
3 598

I base this on the old math that any number
multiplied by a neg results in a sign change.

Now a real expert, SE will tell us both how to
do it easier.....:)

>>How does one switch a column of negitive numbers to positive numbers<<

Highlight the columns or rows you want to fix.

Then just go to "edit" and then "Replace".

When the pop up window shows up, type in "-" ( without quotes) where it asks find what and leave the second field blank that asks what to replace it with.

Then just tell it to replace all and it should work.

Good Luck,

Lee

Hi Chip,

I know I answered this in PM, but for others on the thread one can use the ABS function to get the absolute value of a number...

Hi Chip ..

This is looking a little different since the last time you looked at it.
