I just read a 10 day old Saloman Smith Barney recommendation of AMAT as a BUY at 51. Hell, I said that and lost money, while their analyst made a fortune with his wisdom.

OT OT
My reading is that China is giving Bush the finger for his tough talk. They are showing how impotent that approach is. We'll never know, but it is my contention that this would not have happened with the better relations that Clinton had. They didn't fly so close or threaten our planes then.

Also, how would we feel if they flew spy planes near our borders?

The last thing I want is a war, particularly with China. But we do have to get their attention to prevent war. If we let them get away with too much then they will go too far. This IMHO is a fact of life. It has ever been thus.

**OT****

Please view China as a teenage country, feeling their oats

What????? China is ~5000 years old; we are about 200 years old. Please explain your rationale here. Looking at the numbers, we are in our infancy while they are collecting their SS checks. The last thing we need is historical revisionists or apologists for their terrible human rights record.

Please note that I am being very generous in my use of the word terrible.
