..and one other dirty little secret, most FC RAID storage vendors don't support fabric attach yet.

(They "support" it in the sense that they attach to an arbitrated port on the switch, and the switch sort of converts to fabric, but this is not the same, of course, and some benefits of 100% fabric environment are lost.)

Every technology for datacomm has strengths and weaknesses, and there are right ways and wrong ways to use and implement them<<<

David, Please educate me on why all the professional video/ film, editing companies, that produce professional video and movies, use editing equipment that utilizes Fibre Channel. Are the broadcast and movie industry (the industries that have the most intensive use of high quality video) transitioning to iSCSI right now and dumping Fibre Channel? Based on your comments you make it sound like they all went down the wrong road with Fibre Channel. They must have had good reason to choose Fibre Channel to meet their real world challenges, especially when it has a direct impact on the bottom line of their whole business.
