Hi russ, Thanks for the tip about being able to trade Canadian stocks through Waterhouse. I just talked to them ... it is possible to trade Canadian stocks through them on-line, but you must call them to get a NASDAQ symbol for the Canadian stock (even though it is not traded on the NASDAQ) or to get a quote.

Here's are few real trades and commissions on various prices (all stated in CDN $);
10,000 Geomaque at 40: $129
1,000 Francisco Gold at 5.25: $70
1,500 Gabriel Res at 2.42: $85
20,000 Birim at 14: $105

I think penntrade.com has a flat rate of US$29.95 per trade with one free trade every 10...
