Scumbria,

Thanks.

If anyone can, they ought to tune into the Intel webcast. It's pretty interesting the way they use the internet.

Scumbria, <Hammer is delayed, and AMD is making up nonsense about the reasons.>

Speaking of which, here's a prediction I made two months ago saying that Sledgehammer will slip into oblivion:

Message 15376351

Seems like the Clawhammer slip is just the first step of my prediction coming true. How long has AMD planned on entering the 4-way and 8-way SMP market? Heck, even Itanium, the current poster child for schedule slips, won't enter oblivion, but in fact will be released this quarter (finally).

Scumbria, <If Intel can get 0.13u and DDR for P4 quickly, AMD is in a world of hurt.>

By the way, why the sudden change in position? I thought you said the P4 is too imbalanced to compete with any AMD has to offer, no?

Just wondering ...

Scumbria - Re:"Hammer is delayed, and AMD is making up nonsense about the reasons. The Palomino die is huge, and not much faster than T-Bird."

Are you being sarcastic or is this information real?

If real, what is the source or reliability level of this information.

SCUMbria - Re: "Hammer is delayed, and AMD is making up nonsense about the reasons. "

Really now?

Such a simple idea - merely an extension to the existing architecture.
