Who is the CFO of this company?

I thought it was James Schneider, according to a site I use.

Usually that is the position I don't like to see resignations.

Tom Meredith did not appear to be occupying a major position at this time (Dell Ventures) relative to Vanderslice, Rollins, Schneider. I don't see a problem with IBM influence on this company. You need to look beyond the PC and IBM has done well...except when they let Microsoft take control over the Operating System. <g>.
Dell has to be able to move into new markets and they need experts that will help them get there. Meredith probably helped get them here but they need people with experience in other areas since they have mastered the PC business.

I do remember Meredith as the CFO when I last used to trade this stock--a couple of years ago.

Meredith is gone ... Politically correct reason
The politically incorrect reason is that he hosted a private dinner at his house for President Clinton (along with a significant contribution to Gore) while Michael Dell was Bush's chief technology advisor and major back patter.

Also, Dell ventures which Tom leads, has not been a stellar performer this year.
