some things are a lot different now ... I don't expect depression (what does that mean? not sure) as in 30's

will the standard of living for an average j6p take a step backwards -- I expect so, but I don't think it'll will be calamitous

there'll be lots of folks out of work -- the government (next administration) will temper the past reductions in social programs, etc

could be some positives come out of it, too

hopefully we won't get a New Deal 2 -- that would be very bad

Earlie, I have made a comparison between now and the 1930's, and I am willing to bet that we will not have a 1930's style crash. Care to make a friendly wager? Please posit potential parameters.
