Trying to make Jesus out to be a horse thief, and God a liar, reveals far more about you, than it does about the Bible

You're remembering this one where poor Matthew has Jesus ride into town on a horse and an ass at the same time, because Matthew misunderstood the translation of a prophecy he was trying to fulfill!

21:2
Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

21:3
And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

Zech.9:9
21:4
All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

21:5
Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

What a hoot, Matthew was!

As for the liar part--why don't you develop a little class? All I did was quote a few scriptures where God boasts of how he deceives people. I'm only a messenger. If you don't like what your God says in scripture, well...why don't you blame the person who wrote the scripture?

You are showing a churlish attitude. Is your God so small, that I must bear the responsibility for His words and for His deeds? And are you so narrow, that you will not allow your God to own His own words? Your coarse and irrational outburst says nothing about me. Your testimony is against yourself and one other...

Are we all to be limited to quoting only the "for God so loved the world..." scripture--over and over and over again? Is this the only quote from God that you are able to tolerate?

Your inability to understand your own dependance on limited
forms of archaic Judaic Old Testament stories and it's
deleriums deemed 'prophesy' for the source of
your truths, reveals also much
about you.

If there is a much finer "Truth" that lays within existence ; an exquisite essence
within all the God of nature's creation .... that can be touched , felt and
explored thru the interaction of art ,science ,
faith, and personal revelation and study, then let it be
discussed and talked about , without
the rancor.

The subject of there is a " One Eternal Diety or Being " ... an absolute
reality and omniescient ,omnipresent pure benevolence
behind the play of all the phenomena called "Life"
is a subject worth earnest meaningful discussion,
without personal attacks and condemnations.

The way we treat life and approach one another now , is more important and than all the ancient preserved scriblings and cherished myth-stories , that some still cling to.

If you choose to make these stories real for yourself for lack of any other original source of knowledge , then at least be reflective enough to see the limitation of those stories to produce the desired effect within your own person in regards to that most elevated treatment of your brother you were instructed
by your master
to exemplify .

There maybe something terribly majestic and eternal
behind all that we see happening before us here on earth , Greg ;
mystical wonderments and elevated experiences
that go beyond the norm, if we seek hard enough.
If your love of the scripture is deep enough
and expanded enough , and touched you deeply enough
you would not have to react
with such vehemence and
lash out so.

What was it your master taught you of God ? Let us
hear that , and let that be discussed. If it elevates
and inspires , then all will hear
the message.

Stop playing the "chosen one" , and all others
are the Pharasees...it is 21
centuries later.

regards
