Especially in America , where all religious beliefs are allowed to mingle and freedom of thought and religious practice is allowed . Go back 30 or more years in this country and all these fundie cults that are so active now were practically in hiding. People who belonged were commonly reluctant to admit it. Then: Roe v. Wade and in the ensuing decades they have done their best to take over the government (and may finally have suceeded.) Getting them back into the can again is going to be tough. History isn't a straight line; there are many sharp, jagged curves. I think you're being very simplistic about this. But what I mean by One religion , is given more time , say another 150 years , alot more synthesis of belief & change will take place. And sans " The Second Coming " or the coming of the Jewish Great Messiah, I think we will see more of the barriers of these religious/cult/superstitons coming down. But it is so nice to think that you are part of a special few chosen and blest by God, and all those ignorant, sinful fools out there who mock you are going to Hell. A great many people are going to be unwilling to give that up.

Another common misconception: "I know alot of women also , who have a bit of a hard time being enamoured much of Islam as it stands today." Women are flocking to Islam. I don't have actual data but it looks like there are 30 or 40 young women accepting Islam for every 1 man in America. And, its not because there is a huge recuitment effort. Its actually a dilema because culturally they shouldn't be single women. I know you will find this hard to believe but I am on the inside and this is definitely the case. Its weird, since most people are under the impression that American women detest the culture. And, that seems to be the official word from American women. I don't know if you've noticed but what women say they want doesn't always match what we find them doing.
