That's because everyone there is too busy eating up Elmer's latest "We will bury you" missive, or whatever Paul Engel is spewing in his usual tasteful and diplomatic manner.

"Do you have any theories on why some on this thread are so obsessed with "crossovers?" They are never talked about on the Intel thread. Why here?"

Simply put, it is exceedingly interesting to some that 1 year ago the ratio was 3/1 in INTC's favour, today it is 1/1, and some here speculate that one year from now it is likely to be 1/3!!! That's a pretty significant trend/phenomenon were it to occur (I for one think it will!!!)

I wouldn't think the answer would be too hard to figure out. As an AMD shareholder, your collective fate is determined almost exclusively by the actions and achievements of Intel. No matter what AMD does, it's possible that Intel could do it better and AMD would be SOL. The opposite is not even close to true. No matter what AMD does, Intel is still probably effected more by the economy, industry growth, and other factors then by AMD. Look at the year the athlon came out, if AMD wasn't outperforming Intel with the chip they'd probably have gone bankrupt, however, even though they were outperforming them, Intel stock still did well until the SOXX crashed and the pc growth went into the toliet.

Frank,

re: Do you have any theories on why some on this thread are so obsessed with "crossovers?"

I think it is because they hate Intel much more than they like AMD. In fact if they didn't have Intel as a enemy, they would probably find another investment with an equally evil and dark competitor.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Intel and AMD are just a bunch of folks trying to make a living peddling microprocessors. I would bet the people that work for the companies are less passionate than the people on this thread.
