Prior to watching the show I assumed most the blame lay with CA. not anymore. They were screwed royally. There's a part in the piece where traders from CA representing the state were trying to buy electricty on the open market. The bids were pushed all the way to 9999 by the people in control (i.e. enron traders). They stopped at 9999 because they assumed that the computer bid displays in California only had a 4digit display. If they would have know there was 5 the prices would have risen even more. Amazing.

they basically took advantage of the system and squeezed the hell out of CA. I call it exploitation. They call it free market enterprise. whatever. (squeezing gold prices is one thing, but peoples lives are too dependent on electricity to be jerked around like this.)

the other thing is these pricks have the DC politicians in their backpockets. especially now with bush/cheney. You should see the dork from the FERC. Total puppet.

JIM:

Hear had a nice up-gap today. It is up 41% on volume of 1,173,700 but it seems it has a problem going over the May 29 intra-day H of 0.83<g>

siliconinvestor.com

Will see if it will be able to do it with the help of today's news:
