Can't have the big bad US military in control of the sats.

Actually, a valid consideration. Finland, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Vatican City and Monte Carlo might declare war on the US someday.

re Euro Serfs, I understand, plan to use a triangulation position location service that violates individual privacy. Hopefully such phones and systems will be banned iin the US. Qualcom will use Snap Track, a GPS BASED SYSTEM THAT RESPECTS PRIVACY. But what do serfs care about such things?

Privacy is a legeslative, not a technology issue, as the article clearly implies. But lets not that get in the way of more of your mindless Euro-bashing.

BTW - I thought of you when I read this article in todays NY Times

"U.S. Businesses Turning to Europeans for Antitrust Help"

Euro Serfs don't have a winner-takes-all system,
based in voter exclusion, chads in the machine (Jim Crow, ya know).

As a result the serfs have a constant grip on the balls of
the concensus, multy party government.

Well, some real Euro Serfs actually still have it, but
are working hard to reform it, like UK.

Ilmarinen

Well, some have another extreme of dysfunctional systems,
but if I explained why the swedes would get angry.

Additionally, the problem is not the knowledge, but
who has acess to the knowledge, a matter of
exploding US-EU dispute.

In terms of GPS the problem is that it doesn't work if

- you keep your hand above that extended antenna
- you tilt the antenna back and forth
- sit in the car
- standing under a tree
- in a covered parking lot
- beside a high building
- a nearby high mountain
- it is raining

but in the empty desert it is great, just like QCDMA
