<<just those poor schmucks who they addicted.>>

My grandmother told me 45 years ago," Don't smoke it is bad for your health." Everyone knew it then. Anyone who smoked did so of their own volition.

<<<"First of all, the vast majority of health care is spent in the last six months of life.">>>

From JF:
<<I think it's also true that the vast of amount of healthcare money is spent on people who contracted their illnesses from smoking......you ready to clamp down on big tobacco or just those poor schmucks who they addicted.>>

JF,

First, I am working on your previous question, but this is easier, so I will do it first.

For one thing I am a smoker.

I quit for a few years, but never got past it.

Smoking is a personal responsibility. It is well known that smoking damages your body.

I can promise you I am going out with all the original equipment.

I do have some ideas though.

Very simple.

Got this idea from automotive industry.

Mandate that pre-rolled cigarette nicotine will be reduced by 10% per year. In ten years we will have nicotine free cigarettes and many will quit smoking on the way.

However, I would permit nicotine based pipe tobacco.
You do not want to support a black market, but only remove the convenience.

Them little holes in cigarette filters couldn't be used as a solution either.

All the Best,
josh
