Well, I would suggest they emigrate to Liberia, which was created with the purpose of freeing and repatriating slaves.
It was the idea of Robert Finley, a Presbyterian minister, who created the American Colonization Society. Francis Scott Key (star spangled banner), Daniel Webster, Henry Clay, and Robert Monroe were all members of this organization, and Bushrod Washington (George's nephew) was the first president.

Maybe we should re-organize the group and lobby for taxpayer money to give any descendant of a slave a one-way ticket there.

What's kind of "amusing" in an ironic sense, is how these freed slaves treated the native population, the Malinke:

"Although Americo-Liberians had been denied their freedom in America, many did not think to extend their new liberty to the native Malinke.

Liberians treated many Malinke like second-class citizens and denied them voting rights under their US-based constitution. Natives were also used as forced labor until an admonishment from the League of Nations in 1931 halted the practice."

Funny how the oppressed often become the oppressors given the opportunity.

I read the whole WT article on Saturday... Again, you mix up two different issues here! Mrs Henri Brooks is not DISLOYAL to her country, nor is she a TRAITOR to the US government.

She didn't LIE to her compatriots, that is, she didn't behave like Jewish traitors Jonathan Pollard, John Deutch, Marc Rich, and others who publicly swore allegiance to "their" country while, in reality, they secretly conspired to BETRAY it. Mrs Brooks' attitude towards what she considers a hypocritical protocol (ie the Representatives' pledge) is candid and PUBLIC --it's actually more a political opinion than outright disloyalty. Therefore, Mrs Brooks' case doesn't compare at all with a treason case like Pollard's or (FBI agent) Hanssen's. Mrs Henri Brooks' in-your-face protest didn't HARM the US government/intelligence, nor did it cost American lives. Get the picture?

Gus.
