There were inflows into mutual funds but many managers might have been on vacation. Explains part of the low volume and the severe drops we saw in stock prices after profit warnings. We had actually seen gains after warnings in the week before...another sign of buyers being on vacation.

There was little new supply this week. What happened to the cash? My guess is that funds took the money in but will buy later. Just a small positive for the bullish case (at least to put a support on the Nasdaq..maybe) but something bigger is needed such a good earnings report and outlook from a large cap tech. Otherwise, it does not look good near term.

Congratulations...
A nice honest post... I hope EMC bounces back for u & u can sell on the rally.

BTW, I don't think Bush has anything to do with what is happening today...

edit: let me rephrase that... Bush or any President would be hard pressed to find a solution to the malinvestment of capital that occured over the last 5 to 10 years.

He is powerless IMHO through no fault of his own...

Regards,
Peter

SCNT, and KMAG ?? Are these short-term hopefuls, or are you building a long-term position ? siliconinvestor.com

Don't mean to be insulting, but you remind me of that kid trying to nurse a dying rat back to health in the movie "The Wall". The rat died.

Hey AS,
Without the politics (the consensus is no political trash talk here on this thread - hehehe - got enough PM's the last time I indulged to get it through my thick skull - lol), this is actually one of the best posts I've read from you.
No stock hyping, an honest expression of the exasperation a great many traders/investors must be feeling...not bad reading...
Actually feeling a bit indignant for you... haven't seen hide nor hair from you in a while...I assume you're just quietly minding your own business...then you have to read several posts practically calling you out here...only to get dumped on after you appear. It's not fair, I tell you! ggg
Anyway, don't let it bother you...I suspect you have had plenty of practice as far as having to deal with unpleasant posts...
<This market is a bitch.> Only in comparison to the amazing long term bull enjoyed until spring 2000. Now it is a trader's market. Down (mostly) with Up mixed in here and there just for fun.... Without chart reading skills, I think "investors" are going to take it on the chin for a while yet. Buy the dip? Better not forget to take the profits before the next dip. LTBH is going to suck for some time to come, IMO.
Regards,
Eichler
