William: Millions of Americans are getting another dose of Qtrly retirement plan statement shock... This can have an impact in the years to come when compounding of this smaller base results in less money available to spend... To counteract this we'd need another major bull market... That usually starts from much lower P/E valuations... The market is still highly priced on a valuation basis... That would be ok if corporate profits were running 30% to 40% ahead of last year... Instead, they're declining... We'll probably see another slice of market overvaluation pared away before we move higher... Another alternative could be a long lateral base until we see signs of improving profits... Jim
