Hi Gottfried,

Tech Turnaround Today !!!

Indecision Doji's on:Sox.x,Amat,Nvls,Cohu.

As the NAZ has retouched a triple bottom - So has the S&P 500 ,Russell 2000,DJ-30.

All have retouched EXCEPT the SOX.X. Just when people think CSFB's call that Semi's and their equip makers are dead money - They show the strongest support.

What really happened was a bounce down off many of these stocks 200 day moving averages. That's right they didn't just blow thru the average - they got hit in the head and dropped back.Interesting that they didn't fall as hard as the overall market indices.Shows money going into these future leaders.

My guess is institutional stealth buying in combination with smart shorts covering high risk/small reward trading positions.

Sideways markets sure drive you nuts as they keep losing those nice gains that reult from those exciting pops up.

Just think how much harder it must be to hold a short and the lows keep getting higher?

JMHO

Bob

Gottfried, It appears we are having a discussion repeated from 1996 and 1998 cycles. I recall at that time Teri assumed the same position as Cary is today, stating that AMAT was going into the teens. However, we know that did not happen. It has amazed me how the institutionals have held up the stock with its Orders, shipments and BTB being so low in comparisons.

All investors have to do is look at the months of July-Oct to see the bottom action trend and the beginning of a rebound. AMAT realistically should be in the $20-29 range but it is not due to the institutionals holding the stock up. IMO, I do not expect the institutionals to see at this late date in the current cycle but use the downturn to buy more shares.

I am sure they will be more than happy to take Cary's and other stock holders shares>

Additionally, everyone on this thread should look at the collation between AMAT's Earnings and its prices. Also, an inverse collation.

Just my opinions.

Paul
