You and I still disagree on BTB.
To me the ratio is the important factor, other wise why call it BTB. You could just call it Bill or just call it Book.

Semi plant has a very short life. If your Dram equipment is 3 years old, there is no money to be made. The 300 will be the next round and companies that don't move up from 200 to 300 will not exist.

The only way to measure this has historically been BTB.IMHO

PS: 6 months from now, all will agree that April 4, 2001 was the "low" and not some new coming "low". And I am basing this all on BTB.

Zeev: Re: "It has been four months in a row now that orders have not decreased, and the market may interpret that as positive."

It is a positive if the market is in search of one <g>.

Re: "My interpretation is slightly different."

Uptick in a flat market at best?

Issue tomorrow is how much the broader makret can hold and push the Sox down.

... equity P/C ratio for.. 4:00, 3:30, 3:00 and 2:30 ... all under 1.00, being ... .86, .71, .84 and .42.

umm? .... I make those .57, .52, .51, and .48 respectively, per CBOE cboe.com 'Equities' columns, 8/21/01.

(warning, tasteless joke :-)
Maybe you have overclocked DDR in your calculator, shoulda taken the Bus$$, it gives lower values every day!

Talk about sentiment indicators not reaching extremes, VIX closed today at 26. Last spring at hit 40 at the market bottom. And 60 at the 1998 trough. I know you do not put too much emphasis on this indicator,, but a major market trough with VIX at 26 (or under 30 for that matter) is hard to imagine.
