Yes Jim, that's the gap. I think it's going to be filled also, but there's still some good buys.

The dip on consumer confindence indicates that people are being cautious but it's been orderly and investors are looking for an opportunity to start buying. Ed Yardeni at Deutshbank believes that the US market in general is fairly valued at this time. Take away the techs, and you may conclude that the market is undervalued.

Greenspan said today "the massive increase in capital values over the past five years" has had a profound impact on incomes but that it was hard to separate the impact of gains from different sources. He also noted that capital gains on stocks and mutual funds in recent years have been two to four times the size of gains from home sales.

Jim, the capital gains he was talking about is sitting in short term bonds.
