I think it is inevitable that the US does something, but I think it is going to be another Vietnam. We are dealing with the same type of enemy this time- they are fanatic, work in cells/small groups, have nothing to lose etc. The difference this time is the enemy is spread out all over the world. If you don't fight they will hit you. Catch-22. Might as well fight.

Simple, Steve, George, simple, ruthless, deplorable to any who comments on it, unacceptable to the French, an atrocity to the Japanese, etc.,etc.,and pre-emptive in nature, to save western civilization...yep, I am not crazy and neither is bin-Laden. We make it clear to everybody we do this in defense of world safety and F**K what they say...we go into all satellite-tracked areas in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Sudan, warning very bluntly we have more to use if necessary, and nuke the sons-a-bitches with neutron bombs. Or we listen to the lamenting, the rage, the sorrow, expressed in our media, on the faces of all those people we see on TV, and we resolve that we are "gonna get those bastards"...until another attack, with a nuke, anthrax, a neurotoxic gas...on Chicago, New York again, San Francisco, Seattle...and then we'll wring our hands...and then this as well...racial profiling for the time being, all new Mideastern visitors...line 'em up ,say that no one has anything to fear if they are in the clear...repugnant, yes, in the extreme. No detention camps like Manzanar, but mandatory checkins on a massive scale, perhaps even under martial law. Guess what ? It is war. Some of us haven't woken up to that fact. And I am the guy who called a local Suni Muslim mosque yesterday to express my condolences were he to be getting a lot of hate messages. He was. He thanked me. He cried. He made me cry. But I stand by what I say now. It is now or later. we have not seen the end to this until Islamic fundamentalists are exterminated, like roaches. Getting rid of roaches makes the house rather unpleasant for awhile. Am I frightened by what I suggest. Bet your life on it. But I am more afraid of losing family in Seattle when a nuke come in on a container ship. Absolutely. And I feel in my gut, I KNOW something like that is coming. No troops on the ground! Russia did that in Afghanistan. Napoleon did that in Russia. We did that in Viet Nam. It has finally, though I never thought I'd live to hear myself say it, come nuke time. Jim Black
