I can use your weapons as well, CB:

violence: 1. exertion of physical force so as to injure or abuse 2. injury by or as if by infringement or profanation 3. intense or furious often destructive action or force ....

militarism 1. predominance of the military class or its ideals 2. a policy of aggressive military preparedness - , militarist ... militaristic

from a Merriam-Webster - Since 1847 the leading name in dictionaries. The commitee on Non-american activities would give me a green light on the reference I hope.

So... check meanings under 1 to 2 if they apply to US.

Hi CB,
Militaristic means belonging to the military.
Do you you think your country belongs to the military ?

If the US was really militaristic, IMHO, I'd be a cute and cuddly EX-Canadian living in the 51st state (or 52nd, or 53rd...)....
especially considering the at the Canadians have always turned back previous US attacks, I'd expect a truly militaristic country to try to reassert some 'Manifest Destiny', just to save face, n'est-ce pa, mon amie ?

regards
Kastel
