Re : plans to buy a 1X technology handset -- I plan to buy one more or less as soon as Sprint PCS has them. I tend to buy Kyocera (previously Qualcomm) handsets, without even looking at any of the other choices available, since I trust Qualcomm / Kyocera to produce excellent stuff. This is what will probably be my choice : kyocera-wireless.com Jon.

Just for fun, how many of us are planning on buying 1X phones? 2 as soon as they're available, 3 more within a year. I still expect carriers to be very aggressive with retail pricing of 1x handsets due to the capacity improvement for their networks, including possibly some very favorable upgrade programs for existing customers(VZ should practically give their analog customers a 1x phone). Data services would also play into the equation, looking to increase ARPU. Cooters - The Poor Janitor

Hi techlvr, I may have to replace handsets before 1x because they are old and replacement batteries may not be available. That won't stop me from changing those out as soon as 1x becomes available. I am very much wanting Video on Demand feature on my wireless device. Will be very useful in our line of work which is construction. Help us to interact with customer by sending pictures of progress or product or in aiding us in describing problems on job sites that require quick decisions. I will be buying two phones. M
