Very interesting!

BTW, I heard that in both the Korean and Vietnam wars, allied soldiers regularly threw away their M1 and Garand in favour of the A. Kalashnikov whenever they could get their hands on it because it uses the same ammo and is less liable to jam. Comments, please!

What is the heaviest calibre rifle you have fired?

I once shot a couple of rounds off a 338. My! It certainly packed a mighty wallop on game and on my shoulder! And I suffered some temporary hearing loss in my right ear! Before that the heaviest calibre rifle I had fired was the 270.

<<30-06 Super Springfield. >>

Aren't US & Canadian snipers still using modified 700BDL, though in 7.62NATO(.308 Win.), as the primary sniper rifle with the .50 cal. Barrett as the pick of the Seals? Isn't there a "sniper qualified" member of every S.F. team? Isn't there also an FN SLR, HK G-3,(7.62 NATO) or M-249 (belted 5.56 damn-it) also on most SF Airborne or Marine rifle teams?

Really aren't the FN & HK better in some ways & worse in others than the BAR of legend?

Yes, (the worthless prick) Clinton killed much of the US small arms practice - even for snipers - Stupid MF used the ammo money for sensitivity training & counseling but don't we still have a great many well armed warriors?

Couldn't we simply hire the Italian Army? After all they can get the world's most accurate rifle the 6.5 x 52 Carcano?
