Erik, Osama bin Laden has clearly spun his words very masterfully to fool the third world citizens of the Middle East into supporting his cause. Apparently, these words are so masterfully spun that they are causing some Americans to question our beliefs. Madmen don't rise to power by being fools. Hitler is a great example of a military genius that was able to fool the generally good hearted German citizens into committing devastating hate crimes. Don't let bin Laden's words fool you in the same way. He is a madman, and his quest is for personal gain, to remove his enemies, and put his version of his religion into power. Plain and simple.

Eric, you're talking about a coward that killed 6000+ people without any warning what. There's nothing religous about that act. It's EVIL and Osama's a madman who will say whatever necessary to bring people to his personal cause. The Taliban isn't interested in Freedom and neither is bin Laden.

Re: These people are standard-grade freedom fighters.

Since when "freedom fighters" kill innocent people to bring attention to their cause?

These guys are a bunch of lunatics and fanatics.

The Israel-Palestine conflict will not be solved killing bond traders, mutual fund managers, janitors, and clerk officers in Manhattan. What the heck does this have to do with the "fight for freedom"?

If anything, these terrorists have one more time given Israel and their supporters the perfect excuse NOT to settle with the arabs.

The content of Osama's speech is not rational. It is that of a madman who uses religion to justify his own messianic impulses.

Eric, <These people are standard-grade freedom fighters.>

Of course they were. And Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were merely standard-grade "creative dissenters." Oh, and don't forget Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. They were only standard-grade "victims of bullying."

<We just happen to be on a different side: especially as related to support for Israeli freedom at the expense of Palestinian freedom.>

If there are no differences between the two sides, then would you join the other side if given the opportunity? I didn't think so.

Eric: These people are standard-grade freedom fighters.

Lol, that's just too funny.

Have you seen any of the video smuggled out of Afgahnistan showing what their schools are like? We're talking children of all ages being, quite simply, brain washed. In everything from reading and writing to math the lesson is the same one of intolerance, die for your religion etc.

Freedom fighters want... FREEDOM. The Taliban don't want freedom (there's nothing to want freedom from - they control 90-some percent of the country), they want to impose their belief system (a violent, twisted derivative of Islam) on the populace. Their tolerance of those who do not share their beliefs (at least outwardly) is zero.

At one point, you could argue, the Taliban were actually freedom fighters. The country had been wracked by wars for years on end (thanks in no small part to other countries, including "the West") and the Taliban emerged as the best bet for peace. Once in control, however, the true nature of these former freedom fighters surfaced.

"Tell me that the content is not overall rational"

What? Rational? You must be joking.
I could not find a single rational word in the content.

BTW, could you explain why this deranged individual
is demonstrating a AK-47 on every public appearance?
Is this his symbol of power, to compare with B2 etc.,
or what? This group is totally out of mind in their
misery, it could be just funny if not so tragical
for those they lead, and for those who they terrorize.
